If I were a startup entrepreneur, here is another thing I’d consider when looking for office space: the right environment.

The early stages of a growing company are vital to the formation of a culture. You want to foster an environment that breeds teamwork as well as innovation. I would want to set up my place so that it is conducive to all-nighters, and has areas for people to blow off some steam. Get a couple of couches and a big flat screen.

The work areas need to be wide open so there is no impediment to communication. The meeting spaces should be limited because it is important that everyone always know what everyone else is up to. Do not think that you need to spend a lot of money. It will be needed for other things, like a jukebox.
