A tasty holiday exercise tip

With the changes to schedule, social occasion frequency, foods, and travel, it can be a real challenge to keep up exercise during the holidays.

This is the time of year when you need it most. Exercise will help to keep your metabolism high to prevent holiday weight gain and keep stress levels low. Setting a realistic, flexible plan will be sure to keep those endorphins running high.

Create a 10 minute exercise routine for yourself that requires no equipment. This might include sit-ups, push-ups, lunges and squats. Any floor exercise will do. You can always make this longer if you choose, but commit to at least 10 minutes so time is never an obstacle. Then decide on the number of times you’d like to do it. Give yoiurself flexibility for your crazy schedule.

Lastly, decide on a time of day when you’ll continue your routine. It will help to schedule this next to something else that always happens so you have a built in reminder. For example, do 10 minutes of sit-ups, lunge, squats and pushups every other day before you start preparing dinner. Your appetite will surely keep you on track.
