Year-end crunch time can be tough for those of us in real estate. Although it’s important to get things done, you must take care of your own mental health and have stress reduction methods in place. Here are some things that work for me.
Come to work energized and focused on the positive. Recently the anchor tenant here at 2 Canal Park declared bankruptcy. Although I was sad to see them go, I’m looking forward to the new opportunities it presents in the building.
You can’t do everything at once. Prioritize your time and make lists. I have a big white board in my office. When I think of something that needs to be done I write it on the board. It also helps to carry around a small notebook.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. The assistance I received when I recently transitioned from Assistant Property Manager was invaluable.
Delegate. Don’t be a hero at the expense of your well being.
Take deep breaths. Here’s to stress free days and a happy new year.
