Since 2010, the population in cities that are serviced by subway lines is growing at a pace more than double that of cities beyond mass transit. The average annual population growth along the T is 1.1% vs. .5% beyond it.

Population growth in the cities that are serviced by the subway has taken off. It’s growing at an annual rate that is nearly four times the annual rate in the previous decade. This is urbanization at work.
