The future of Parcel 9, located at Haymarket on the Greenway, has finally been decided by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) with the designation of Jones Lang LaSalle as advisor and Normandy Real Estate Partners as developer. After more than four years of consideration, the winning proposal for the Parcel 9 development includes an eight story, 180-room mid-priced hotel, European-style market, retail and restaurant space. Additionally, Blackstone Street will undergo $2 million of infrastructure improvements to support the Haymarket pushcart vendors including water and electrical upgrades, retractable stall covers, and interior space for trash compaction, storage, and vendor rest rooms.
The project, designed by Perkins + Will, will be among the largest developments along the Greenway since the park system was completed in 2007. Read more about the Parcel 9 project here.
