This holiday season, the JLL Boston office is giving back to our community with a book drive to benefit the Roxbury YMCA. This is the second annual JLL Boston book drive. This year we were able to collect and donate 265 new books.
The Roxbury YMCA aims to instill the love of learning through story-telling and early literacy games and activities. The books donated by JLL will go home with children, between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years old, the majority of whom do not have access to age appropriate books. Over 90% are eligible for state subsidies for early education, and nearly 100% are eligible for free or reduced school meals.
“Your donation of new books provides the spark that our 200 kids (and their parents) need to keep our kids on the path to being proud young readers,” said Kathryn Saunders, Executive Director of Roxbury YMCA
JLL is working with the YMCA as Project Manager on the renovation of two of their Boston facilities; the West Roxbury location and the Huntington Avenue location.
