We are pleased to report that progress continues to be made on the EMD Serono Sagamore Building expansion project. Our JLL Construction crew put the final structural beam in place during a topping off ceremony held recently at EMD’s Billerica campus.

Our team has been providing general contracting services for the Sagamore expansion, which will span more than 30,000 square feet at the Billerica campus. JLL previously completed work for EMD Serono on the original Sagamore building in 2014.

The $12 million expansion project began in June and is on track to be complete in June 2017. The building will feature a decorative lobby, auditorium, collaborative rooms and open office space. Once complete, the facility will accommodate approximately 120 new and current employees whose focus will be on accelerating innovation in R&D, with a focus on oncology, immune-ology and immunology.

The team is proud to continue our partnership as Construction Manager for EMD Serono. The topping off ceremony is a very exciting part of the construction process, and we look forward to celebrating more milestones with the EMD team.

Joining me on the JLL Construction team are superintendents Dan Browne and Brian Leclerc, assistant construction manager Ramon Cortorreal and safety officer DonPaul Benzaquin. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have about this project or other construction needs.
