The growth of cloud storage impacts all of us, every day. We can’t go an hour without using a cell phone, smart device or something reliant on the cloud. And, as technologies like self-driving cars become more prevalent, that will only increase. So it should come as no surprise that the cloud is having a significant impact on the growth of the data center market. That being said, the growth is most notable in markets like Northern Virginia, Chicago and Dallas, but not as much so in New England.
I recently had the privilege to sit down with Martin Hannigan, former head of network and data center architecture at Akamai, and long-time internet professional, to discuss how the cloud is impacting the data center market and what role New England will play in that growth.
